Stage Aurora Presents FENCES
Denzel Washington and Viola Davis won Best Actor and Actress Award in a play for their portrayal of Troy and Rose.
(Jacksonville, FL) – December 27, 2012 – Stage Aurora Theatrical Company will perform the Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning Broadway drama FENCES written by August Wilson, February 1-10, 2013 at the Stage Aurora Performance Hall located at 5188 Norwood Avenue inside Gateway Town Center.
In 1987, this sensational drama starred James Earl Jones as Troy Maxson, a former star of the Negro baseball leagues who now works as a garbage man in 1957 Pittsburgh. Excluded as a black man from the major leagues during his prime, Troy's bitterness takes its toll on his relationships with his wife and his son, who now wants his own chance to play ball. James Earl Jones won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play in 1987.
FENCES performs February 1-10 (Weekends only).
