Stage Aurora presents the hit musical CROWNS for Mother’s Day May 10-12 at the Stage Aurora Performance Hall located at 5188 Norwood Avenue inside the Gateway Town Center. Crowns is the stand-upand-testify musical written by Regina Taylor. It’s a soul-stirring tribute to the relationship between women and their unique fussy, furry, feathery, fierce, funny, and flamboyant hats. CROWNS is also based on the book by Michael Cunningham and Craig Marberry.
The story focuses on Yolanda, a young Brooklyn girl, who is sent down South to stay with her grandmother, encounters her grandmother and her grandmother's friends in the rituals of HAT preparation for fun and going to Sunday church service! The talented cast features Tarra Jones, Staci Anderson, Monique Ellis, Candace E. Crump, Brendy Merricks, Victoria Canady, Teresa Smith, Kai Smith, and Marc Curtis Little as Man. The production is steered by Stage Aurora Founder Darryl Reuben Hall with Jason Alexander as Musical
Director and Sade Casper as Choreographer.
